St Mel’s Primary School uniform items are available from The School Uniform Shop or Noone, both in Corio Street.
Wearing correct St Mel’s Primary School uniform is compulsory at all times, with the exception of designated and communicated out-of-uniform days e.g., casual clothes days, dress up days, school performance rehearsals.
Children who attend school without wearing the correct uniform need to bring a note explaining why.
Items must be clearly and permanently marked with the child's name.
Jewellery is not permitted, except for:
- studs or sleepers in the case of students with pierced ears - one per ear only.
- religious and/or cultural jewellery e.g., necklace with cross, prayer necklace, religious bracelet.
Long hair to be fastened tidily with hair or dark coloured ties / bottle green or gold hair accessories e.g., ribbons, scrunchies.
Hair to be the child's natural colour and of an acceptable style.
The judgment of this will be left to the discretion of the Principal.
Hair / head coverings permitted if required for religious and/or cultural reasons.

Summer checked dress (made from summer dress material).
Culotte style shorts (made from summer dress material) worn with the school's bottle green and gold polo top [with embroidered school logo].

Socks must be worn with shoes.
WEARING OF HATS

During Terms 1 and 4 all children must wear a school hat.
Children without a school hat will be asked to play in shade areas only, for their own sun protection.
YEAR 6 LEADERSHIP POLO TOP
Year 6 students have the option of purchasing a St Mel’s Primary School bottle green and gold Year 6 Leadership Polo Top. These tops may be worn during their Year 6 graduation year.
BEANIES & SCARVES
Plain bottle green beanies and plain bottle green scarves may be worn to school in Winter.
