It aims to create an environment where individuality, diversity and growth of children is actively encouraged and celebrated. It is a flexible, child oriented service that encourages free-choice and constructive play, while providing encouragement, stimulation and support during middle childhood.

St Mel's Outside School Hours Care service operates out of a classroom attached to St. Mel's Primary School Hall.
